What is Dissolving?
Filler dissolving is a treatment designed to safely break down and remove hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. This enzyme occurs naturally in the body and, when injected, works to rapidly dissolve unwanted filler in targeted areas. It’s commonly used when filler has migrated, created lumps, caused puffiness, or simply no longer looks the way it was intended to.
Dissolving isn't just about reversing a cosmetic procedure—it’s about restoring balance. Whether filler was placed too superficially, too densely, or in a way that distorts natural facial contours, dissolving allows us to correct those concerns and bring the face back to a more natural state. It’s also often the first step for clients who want to start fresh or achieve a more refined, subtle result with future treatments.
The procedure itself is quick, with results often visible within just a few days. While some clients may need multiple sessions depending on the amount and type of filler present, dissolving is considered a safe and effective way to course-correct and return to a clean slate.
Who Is a Good Candidate for Dissolving?
Filler dissolving is ideal for anyone who is unhappy with the appearance or feel of their current hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler. You may be a good candidate if you:
Notice migration or puffiness in areas like the lips, under eyes, or cheeks
Have lumps, bumps, or irregular texture after filler
Feel overfilled or “pillow-faced” and want a more natural look
Experienced filler placed too superficially or unevenly
Want to start fresh before receiving new filler in the future
Are correcting work done elsewhere
Have an adverse reaction or complication related to filler
